Sunburn is a collection of found photographs
depicting the popular and somewhat cliché subject
of sunsets. Beginning with Sergei Mikhailovich
Prokudin-Gorskii's Zakat na Morie from 1910,
I've bleached, scratched, and defaced the surface
of these images to bring them to a closer visual
description of the subject they intend to document.
Ultimately the photographs fall short, but I've
tried to let them exist as their own beautiful analogue.
